Cocktail Curation: How We Develop Delicious Recipes

February 28, 2021

“Research and development” when you own a bartending company is one of the best parts of the job. While our tasting days are some our favorites, we take a lot of factors into consideration when developing cocktails for our menus:

  1. What flavors and spirits are trending right now?

We conduct Instagram polls and listen to our client’s feedback to hone in on what ingredients people want to sip. Empress Gin and elderflower liqueur are some of those flavors that people can’t get enough of right now!

  2. What is in season?

We pride ourselves on using fresh and seasonal ingredients in our cocktails. In January through March, blood oranges and pomegranates are our favorite fruits to use in our drinks. In July and August, we often incorporate peach into our recipes.

  3. What cocktails can be easily adapted?

Many of the ingredients in our cocktails are interchangeable, so that they can be adapted to all flavor preferences. When we’re teaching virtual cocktail classes, we want everyone to enjoy the cocktail, regardless of their pallets. Most of the liquors in our cocktails can be swapped for other liquors, and many of the other ingredients can be altered too.

We consider all of these factors in developing cocktails. If you’re interested in learning how to make some of our cocktails with a live instructor, shoot us an email today!
