Happy Birthday, BarBees!

Cheers to two years!

Today, BarBees is two years old! Many a time, you will hear Jess and me refer to BarBees as our “baby.” And sometimes, it feels that way! The care and emotion and intentionality that goes into raising a small business creates a deep personal investment.

Jess and I started BarBees after attending bartending school on a whim. We honestly just thought it would be a funny thing to say we did to break up the monotony of university. We’ve now been shaped by two years of growth, fun, hilarious screw-ups, not-so-hilarious screw-ups, friendship, and weird ideas that sometimes work. We’ve been stretched to adapt as the world and client needs change. Two years ago, we were focused on being Nashville’s go-to wedding bartending group, and now, we’re teaching virtual cocktail classes to people all around the world! (BarBees International happened faster than we could’ve ever dreamed.)

We’re not always riding a buzz (lol), but we love what we do and we have so much gratitude for how BarBees has added to our lives.

We’re grateful for a wonderful team of bartenders who care about representing our baby well.

We’re grateful for our clients who love to drink and keep us in business.

We’re grateful for our California director of operations, Olivia, who is KILLING it in cocktail development, social media, and our Western expansion. 

We’re grateful for the community of small businesses and entrepreneurs who have lifted us up and taught us so much.

We’re grateful that business partnership has added such a fun dynamic to our best friendship!

And we’re grateful to be the people we are now because of this business.

Happy Birthday, BarBees. Thank you for shaping us so uniquely. We can’t wait to see what you become!
